Agoro and Brown make Reggae Warriors squad

Newcastle Thunder’s 2019 squad will enjoy further international representation this autumn, as Joe Brown and Mo Agoro are named in Jamaica’s 20-man squad for their historic clash with England Knights on October 20.

Brown, who broke Robin Peers long-standing record for most appearances as a Thunder player in 2019 and Agoro, who has recently secured a switch to Keighley Cougars for the 2020 campaign, are included in a squad alongside four current Super League stars.

It is a hugely significant match for the Thundermen and the Jamaican team as a whole as they take on a tier-one nation for the first time as they continue their preparations for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup.

Qualifying for that tournament for the first time in their history, the squad for the next step on the journey towards their debut on the game’s biggest stage also features two players who ply their trade for domestic club Duhaney Park Red Sharks.

Taking place at Leeds Rhinos’ Emerald Headingly Stadium, kick-off is at 3pm with tickets priced from £10 for adults and £3 for Under 16s.
