SQUAD ANNOUNCEMENT – Thunder name strong 19-man squad

Newcastle Thunder have named a strong 19-man squad ahead of this weekend’s trip to face West Wales Raiders, which sets up a potential club debut for new signing Quentin Laulu-Togaga’e as the club aim to make it seven wins in a row.

Signed from Halifax until the end of 2021 at the start of the week, QLT is part of a squad that sees the Llanelli based squad being shown full respect following their impressive first win as a club against Coventry last time out.

Thunder travel to Stebonheath Park sat second in the table and need to take victory in order to keep pace at the top of the table with Whitehaven, who face Workington Town in the West Cumbrian derby on Sunday and ahead of third-placed Oldham, who Newcastle face at the Vestacare Stadium on August 11.

Having won all four of their previous matches with the Raiders, an extension to that run would be most welcome for Newcastle as the race for promotion to the Betfred Championship enters the final run-in.

Live match updates will be carried on Saturday afternoon via the club’s official Twitter feed @ThunderRugby
