NEWCASTLE THUNDER SET FOR MAGIC NIGHT OUT

The countdown is on to Newcastle Thunder’s biggest game of the year, as the club gears up to welcome York City Knights to Kingston Park Stadium on Friday September 3 (KO 19:45)
Kicking off rugby league’s big weekend in the north east as the Dacia Magic Weekend takes place at St James’ Park, the round 20 Betfred Championship clash will provide Thunder the opportunity to again act as curtain raiser to the ever-popular event.
Having welcomed more than 10,000 spectators across the four previous iterations of the Magic Night Out, including a Kingston Park RL record crowd of 4,137 in 2018, Thunder are pulling out all the stops in their attempts to welcome another bumper crowd.
Launched on Monday with the reveal of the club’s Magic Night Out artwork efforts are set to include intensive promotion via social media, an exclusive ticket offer to grassroots club in the North East and promotion to attendees of Super League’s headline extravaganza.
Community clubs will receive details on Tuesday of the offer that will allow an adult and a kid to attend for 10 quid, along with instructions on how their members can access the deal.
Thunder have also confirmed that advanced ticket prices will apply up until 5pm on match-day, allowing supporters every opportunity to save £5 on the cost of adult and concession prices.
It means adults choosing to buy before heading to the stadium can enjoy another thrilling Betfred Championship clash for the equivalent of just 0.19p a minute.
Season ticket holders are also being asked to play their part in making it a night to remember by bringing mates to swell the gate, making use of their exclusive set of six ticket.
Allowing access to six adult tickets for £50, a set of six gives the club’s most loyal supporters the best way to make enjoy an exciting match in good company.
With five LNER services leaving York after 5pm and arriving in Newcastle Central with enough time to travel to Kingston Park Stadium, it is hoped that Knights fans will also make the trip to support their team and create an electric atmosphere.
Thunder general manager Jordan Robinson said: “The Friday night matches before the Magic Weekend have also been excellent evenings and we’re working hard to make sure this year’s is no exception.
“We want to see as many fans as possibly along next week and we’re hopeful our efforts will attract as many regular, occasional and first-time fans as possible.
“As a club we aim to provide as comfortable a match-day as possible and with attendees able to spread about our 10,000 capacity stadium, we’re confident that everyone can feel comfortable whilst they are with us.”
