NEWCASTLE THUNDER KICK OFF 2022 AWAY TO TOWN

Newcastle Thunder will kick off the 2022 Betfred Championship season with a trip to West Cumbria, as Eamon O’Carroll’s side face newly promoted Workington Town in round one.

Heading to Derwent Park on Sunday January 30th it will be the first meeting between the sides on Cumbrian soil since March 2019.

Winning the last three meetings between the two sides, Thunder will be expecting a stern test from Chris Thorman’s team, as they will aim to mark their return to the second tier with a day one victory.

Following on from a trip in round one, Thunder will kick off their 2022 home fixtures with the visit of Batley Bulldogs to Kingston Park Stadium on Saturday February 5th.

The first of 13 home games next season covered by the 2022 Season Ticket Membership package, the clash with Criag Lingard’s squad is a 3pm kick off and will be the first opportunity for Thunder fans to see their side in action on home turf.

Jake Anderson, Connor Bailey, Gideon Boafo, Jay Chapelhow, Ted Chapelhow, Mitch Clark, Alex Donaghy, Brad Day, Jesse Dee, Josh Eaves, Alex Foster, Brad Gallagher, Sam Hallas, Jack Johnson, Tom Minns, Pat Moran, Craig Mullen, Jake Shorrocks, Ukuma Ta’ai Nathan Wilde and Josh Woods are the 21 players so far confirmed for in Thunder’s 2022 squad, with the final members to be revealed this week.
