JOB VACANCIES WITH RUGBY LEAGUE WORLD CUP`

Three positions being recruited to help deliver the biggest and best rugby league world cup in history

In 2022, England will host the Rugby League World Cup, which will be the biggest and best ever in its history that dates back to 1954 when the tournament began.

32 competing nations in the men’s, women’s and wheelchair competitions will play in 61 matches across 21 venues, including St James’ Park, Elland Road, Emirates Stadium, Manchester Central and Old Trafford.

The most inclusive sport played in the biggest venues across the country, the organisers are on a mission to create inspirational moments that excite, engage and leave a long-lasting legacy.

Looking for the best talent to join the team, RLWC 2021 are currently recruiting for a Host Operations Lead and two Host Marketing Executives.

Role Overview – Host Operations Lead

Working within the Operations team, you’ll report into the Tournament Director and will be responsible for developing strong relationships with and working with a range of RLWC2021 Host towns and cities to plan and deliver activities in the lead up to and at tournament time, and to ensure that Hosts’ bid commitments are delivered.

This will include working with the Host City Lead and teammates in the Revenue department to secure marketing opportunities and channel assets.

Your responsibilities will include coordinating regular Host workshops and stakeholder steering groups, liaising directly with local authorities and stakeholders to formulate agendas, presentations and actions and ensuring Hosts have the appropriate assets (e.g., town/city dressing designs) to deliver on their commitments.

You will make sure that Host objectives for the tournament continue to align to RLWC2021 and ensure Hosts are up to date on all relevant tournament detail.

Role Overview – Host Marketing Executive

Working within the Marketing team, you’ll report into the Marketing Lead and will be responsible for developing strong relationships with the marketing, communications and community contacts of a range of RLWC2021 Host towns and cities, venues, destination marketing organisations (DMOs) and professional RL clubs.

You will be the main contact with each organisation for all marketing activity. Your responsibilities will include the setting up of regular Host Marketing Working Groups that involve all stakeholders as well as key RLWC2021 teammates.

You will ensure a two-way flow of information between each group and relevant departments at RLWC2021 that ensure all marketing activation is well planned and delivered to the highest standard.

You will make sure that all Host Marketing Working Group activities continue to align to RLWC2021 and ensure Hosts are up to date on all relevant tournament detail.
