Thunder Star of the Month- Lemington Riverside Primary School

?Thunder Community is delighted to announce Lemington Riverside Primary School as our ‘Thunder Star of the Month’.

Lemington School has been recognised for engaging in community activity from being a valuable member of our school’s connection programme to participating in our match-day experiences.

On February 6 Thunder Community had a fantastic afternoon hosting over 40 pupils and parents from Lemington School for a takeover day at the Newcastle Thunder v Batley Bulldogs fixture at Kingston Park Stadium.

The school attended a great Q&A session with the Jay and Ted Chapelhow twins, with both first team stars answering all the questions asked and posing for photos. 

After the Q&A session, Lemington took part in the first Guard of Honour of the season before this was followed by a half-time coaching session with the pupils and teachers led by our Community Development Officers Jase and Bear. 

We would like to give a special shout-out to Lemington Teacher, Victoria Jeffcock, for getting stuck into our half-time session with high energy and enthusiasm.

Head Teacher Craig Heeley had very positive words about the day, “Thank you so much for having us. We’ve had some lovely feedback from children and parents who attended the day! We can’t wait to return here soon”.
