FRIDAY NIGHT DATE FOR BRADFORD BULLS CONFIRMED

Betfred Championship clash set to provide Magic Weekend curtain-raiser once more
Newcastle Thunder have confirmed their Betfred Championship round 18 clash with Bradford Bulls will now be a Friday night affair, with the game now taking place on July 8th (KO 19:45)
With the Magic Weekend taking place at St James’ Park on the following Saturday and Sunday, Thunder will once again provide the unofficial curtain raiser to rugby league’s big weekend in the north east.
It has also been announced that the Champion Schools finals day will be held at the ground as the competition draws to a close after a two-year, covid enforced absence.
Taking place throughout the day, seven finals for Year7 to 10 boys and girls will be held at Thunder’s home ground, ahead of the Y7s boys final taking place at St James’ Park on Saturday July 9.
Bradford were the opposition when Newcastle Thunder set the record attendance for a rugby league fixture at Kingston Park Stadium back in 2017, when 4,137 fans filed through the turnstiles for the League 1 clash.
With the Magic Weekend moving to a mid-summer slot on the schedule and with Thunder now playing in the Betfred Championship, the club is targeting to raise that bar further.
Ticket details and prices for the game will be announced in early April, with an allocation set to be sent to Bradford for sale to Bulls fans and an offer to purchasers of Magic Weekend tickets through Super League and the 12 top-flight clubs.
Thunder’s next home game is the Monday Night Rugby visit of Widnes Vikings on April 4, with all tickets for the club’s first game in front of the Premier Sports cameras priced at £5.
