21 MAN NEWCASTLE THUNDER SQUAD NAMED FOR KNIGHTS

Two changes for Thunder ahead of final home match of the season

Brad Gallagher returns to Newcastle Thunder’s 21-man squad ahead of this weekend’s final home Betfred Championship match of the season against York City Knight (KO 7pm)

He is one of two changes to the preliminary squad for round 26 with the other seeing academy graduate Nathan Clemmitt also return to the list.

Both players withdrew from the field with a head knock during the round 24 clash away to Halifax Panthers but have successfully completed their return to play protocols to be available for selection.

Making way for the returnees, Jake Shorrocks continues to be managed with the rib injury sustained in the Summer Bash loss to York, whilst Thomas Lacans has returned home to France having completed his short-term contract with the club.

Saturday is the fourth meeting between the two clubs this season, with a Betfred Challenge Cup tie and the Summer Bash game going alongside a regular season away game at the LNER Stadium back in April.

York have taken the win on each of those occasions, though Thunder produced a committed performance in the meeting at Headingley, pressing for the result until the final minutes until York added some gloss to their win.

Saturday evening’s match will again be hosted from the East Stand side of the ground and tickets grant entry to the Thunder Reserves fixture against Bradford Bulls which kicks off at 3pm.

Advanced prices are in place until 12 Noon on match day, with adults priced at £15, concessions £10, 16-24-year-olds £8 and Under 16’s £3.

Tickets can be booked by clicking here, calling 0191 214 5588 (opt 1) or by visiting the Kingston Park Stadium box office.

Match day tickets can be bought from the East Stand ticket office up to kick-off, with on-the-day prices of £20 for adults, £15 for concessions, £10 for 16-24-year-olds and £5 for Under 16s.

Thunder will name their 17-man match-day squad on Saturday evening.
