Newcastle Thunder squad confirmed for Toulouse trip

Head coach Chris Thorman has today confirmed his 20-man squad to travel to Toulouse for Round 2 of the Betfred Championship season.

The fixture taking place on Saturday, February 11, kicks-off at 6pm (GMT) and will be the first time Thunder has faced the French opposition since 2021, when they welcomed the relegated Super League side to Kingston Park in the Autumn.

The squad sees only one change from the opening round victory against Swinton Lions with second row Brad Gallagher dropping out due to injury.

The fixture could see the university signings duo of Max Flanagan and Evan Lawther make their competitive debuts for the club as well as Greek international Rob Tuliatu.

High-flying winger Alex Young will also be looking to add to his try-scoring tally having secured a double last time out at Swinton Lions.

The fixture could also see the first appearance of the season for academy graduate and Gateshead native, Jake Anderson who continues to impress in training and preparations each week.
