Thunder squad confirmed for Good Friday clash

Newcastle Thunder head coach Chris Thorman has named his 21-man squad to take on Sheffield Eagles in Round 8 of the Betfred Championship.

Taking place on Friday, April 7 the fixture kicks-off at 3pm with Thunder seeing a number of changes made, from the side that won at Rochdale Mayfield ALRFC in the Betfred Challenge Cup.

The clash sees the return of the Hull FC quartet into the fold, with Connor Wynne, Denive Balmforth, Nick Staveley and Matthew Laidlaw all in contention to play.

Captain Alex Foster returns to the squad having missed the Betfred Challenge Cup fixture last time out and Nikau Williams is up for selection following his one-game suspension.

Hull KR loanee Connor Moore, who has been a regular feature in the Thunder squad since his arrival will miss the fixture following a concussion.
