BRADFORD BULLS v NEWCASTLE THUNDER MATCH RESCHEDULED

Newcastle Thunder's Betfred Championship match with Bradford Bulls will now be played on Sunday June 6 as both clubs agree to reschedule the fixture.

Originally set to be played on May 16th, the game was set to be held 24hrs later on Monday, May 17 as one of the first Championship matches to be played in front of crowds in line with the relaxation of the UK's covid restrictions.

It will instead be played a fortnight later on a free weekend for both clubs and on a date Thunder and the Bulls hope will allow more fans to attend.

Newcastle Thunder general manager Jordan Robinson said: “Both the Bulls Thunder have agreed to push the game back slightly further to take place on a Sunday rather than on a Monday evening.

“It hopefully offers opportunities for more fans to attend and the decision has been made with the best interests of spectators at heart.”

Thunder’s next fixture will now be the visit of Halifax Panthers to Kingston Park Stadium on Sunday May 23.

Potentially the first game where Thunder will be able to welcome fans to the ground, further details are hoped to be confirmed later this week.
