Walton joins Cornwall RLFC on loan

Newcastle Thunder prop Tyler Walton has joined Betfred League 1 side, Cornwall RLFC on loan.
The Wallsend native signed for the club back in April and has a number of Reserves appearances to his name but is yet to feature for the first team.
The 22-year-old has prior League 1 experience under his belt having featured for Rochdale Hornets in 2021 and Midlands Hurricanes last season, where he scored three tries.
Cornwall currently sit 9th in the 10-team league, with their sole win of the 2023 campaign coming in March, a 35-10 victory over London Skolars.
Walton has linked up with the Cornwall squad at the backend of this week and is in contention to play in their fixture against Hunslet on Sunday, June 18 (3pm KO).
Newcastle Thunder head coach Chris Thorman said: “With the Reserves fixtures being a little unpredictable at times, we thought it was a great opportunity for Tyler to play some League 1 rugby.
“They approached us and it’s a credit to Tyler because he’s been pretty consistent for our Reserves this year.
“We need our squad ready to play competitive rugby league and this is a fantastic opportunity for Tyler to do just that.”
