Thunder squad confirmed for Sheffield trip

Newcastle Thunder head coach Chris Thorman has today named his 21-man squad to travel to Olympic Legacy Park as they face Sheffield Eagles in Round 16 of the Betfred Championship.

The fixture is set for a 7:30pm kick-off on Friday, June 23 as Thunder look to build on their dramatic victory against Keighley Cougars.

The squad sees only two changes from the side that was victorious last time out at Kingston Park.

Half-back Nikau Williams misses out following a ban for dissent during the Batley Bulldogs clash and Evan Simons is back in the mix having made his returning debut for the club in the same fixture.

Hull FC duo Denive Balmforth and Nick Staveley maintain their places following impressive displays against Keighley Cougars and academy graduate Jake Anderson could also feature for what would be his third competitive appearance of the season.
