A successful NERL Juniors finals day

Newcastle Thunder played their part in a memorable North East Rugby League finals day at the home of rugby league in the North East.
Taking place ahead of Thunder’s clash with Whitehaven on Sunday, July 9, Kingston Park played host for the North East Rugby League Cup and Plate finals for both U14s and U16s age groups.
Sides from Yarm Wolves, Gatheshead Storm, Watch Brow Hornets, Cockermouth Titans, Lowca and Hensingham all took part, bringing along a huge following with them in a great celebration of rugby league in the region.
All results from the finals can be found below:
· U14 Plate Final: Yarm Wolves 6 v 18 Gateshead Storm
· U16 Plate Final: Seaton Rangers 0 v 58 Gateshead Storm
· U14 Cup Final: Wath Brow Hornets 6 v 22 Cockermouth Titans
· U16 Cup Final: Lowca 20 v 16 Hensingham
We’d like to pass on huge congratulations to the sides who took home the trophies and commiserations to those who finished runner’s up. All teams taking part played exceptionally well and can be proud of their efforts – it’s a great indicator of what’s to come for the sport in the region.
General manager of Newcastle Thunder, Jordan Robinson said: “As a club we were incredibly proud to host the North East Rugby League juniors finals.
“There was some excellent rugby on show, and it was great to see some many friends and families down in support.
“It truly was a fantastic celebration of the sport in the region and we’re looking forward to what else is to come.”
