WHAT’S ON: Newcastle Thunder v Swinton Lions

Newcastle Thunder host Swinton Lions as the Betfred Championship returns to Kingston Park.

Kicking off at 3pm on Sunday, July 30, here is everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.

TICKETS

The East Stand club shop and ticket office will be open on match-day from 11am-5pm.

Tickets are still available to purchase now, with prices from £10 for adults and £3 for under-16s. Concessionary pricing is also available from £8 and young adults and students can get tickets from just £5.

With your match ticket you receive entry into ALL three fixtures at Kingston Park on the day.

MATCH-DAY TRAVEL

Stadium parking for this fixture is FREE for all supporters. It will be available on a first come-first served basis.

Stadium parking is FREE for the entire 2023 season.

Stagecoach will be running their usual X47 bus service, which picks up and drops off directly outside Kingston Park Stadium. Single tickets are available from £2 for adults and 60p for under-16s. Day passes are available at £4.50 for adults and £1.10 for under-16s. Click HERE for more information or head to the Stagecoach website.

The stadium is also served by Kingston Park and Bank Foot Metro stations, both of which are a five-minute walk away. Both stations are on the Airport branch of the Tyne and Wear Metro with trains running every 15 minutes. Find out more HERE.

RETAIL

The club shop and ticket office based in the East Stand will be open from 11am-5pm on match-day.

On top of that if you visit the club shop on match day you can get an additional 20% off all Thunder products.

HOSPITALITY

There is no match-day hospitality at our fixture against Swinton Lions.

FOOD & DRINK

The Tap & Tackle will be serving an array of snacks and drinks for supporters to enjoy.

There will also be a food van situated within the stadium bowl.

PRE-MATCH

Turnstiles will open for supporters at 11:30pm. Entry to the stadium bowl can be made through the South East turnstiles.

Ahead of the fixture, Newcastle Thunder Women will make their Kingston Park debut against Workington Town Ladies. The two sides battle it out in the second leg of their two-game series as part of the Women’s Super League North competition.

New to this season, the Stakeford Tyre Challenge returns and will take place on the pitch prior to kick-off. If you fancy the chance to win some great prizes, make sure you enter via our social media.

KICK-OFF

The club’s new mascot Thunderbolt will take to the field to introduce your Newcastle Thunder side back to Kingston Park moments before kick-off.

Newcastle Thunder take on Swinton Lions in the Betfred Championship with kick-off set for 3pm.

HALF-TIME

The Thunderbolt challenge will be taking place at half-time. A lucky individual picked from the crowd will go head-to-head with a Thunder player in a virtual race across the pitch.

Thunder’s LDRL squad will also take centre stage at half-time as they go head-to-head in an intra-squad friendly. Be sure you give them a huge Thunder cheer throughout.

POST-MATCH ACTIVITIES

The action doesn’t finish after the final whistle as our U18s take on Bradford Bulls in a 5:15pm kick-off.

The East Stand Tap & Tackle bar will remain open to the public, so make sure you stick around to support the Thunder stars of the future!
