WHAT’S ON: Newcastle Thunder v Widnes Vikings

Newcastle Thunder host Widnes Vikings as the Betfred Championship returns to Kingston Park.
Kicking off at 3pm on Saturday, August 5, here is everything you need to know ahead of the fixture.
TICKETS
Newcastle Thunder will be running match-day operations from Kingston Park’s West Stand for this match-day.
It is unreserved seating so supporters can sit where they please with tickets still available to purchase for the Betfred Championship fixture.
You can purchase tickets from £15 for adults and £5 for under-16s. Concessionary/Young Adult & Student pricing is also available for £13.

With match-day operations taking place in the West Stand, the East Stand club shop and ticket office will be closed.
All ticketing services will take place in the South West corner at the yellow entry point.
Entry to the stadium is open from 9am for those attending the Moody Cup festival, with food & drink concessions open from 10am.
MATCH-DAY TRAVEL
Stadium parking for this fixture is FREE for all supporters. It will be available on a first come-first served basis.
Stadium parking is FREE for the entire 2023 season.
Stagecoach will be running their usual X47 bus service, which picks up and drops off directly outside Kingston Park Stadium. Single tickets are available from £2 for adults and 60p for under-16s. The stadium is also served by Kingston Park and Bank Foot Metro stations, both of which are a five-minute walk away. Both stations are on the Airport branch of the Tyne and Wear Metro with trains running every 15 minutes. Find out more HERE.
RETAIL
The club shop and ticket office based in the East Stand will be closed this match-day.
All retail operations will be hosted in the West Stand concourse and will be open from 9am.

HOSPITALITY
Taking place in the West Stand’s top floor, hospitality for tomorrow will open from 1:30pm for supporters.
Those attending are advisors to park in the South Stand car park.
To enter please head to the West Stand reception where you will be greeted by our fantastic hospitality team and directed to your table and seat.
FOOD & DRINK
All food and drink offerings will be available in our fan village located in the North West corner of the stadium.
Within the fan village supporters will find Moroni Pizza van, 72 Angel’s and Posh Box.
Starting the day right, there will be a breakfast offering which begins from 10am, with a switch to lunch offerings taking place at 12am.
There will also be two bars within the fan village, including the well-renowned bus bar.
Following the conclusion of the match, the East Stand Tap & Tackle will be supporters’ port of call. Head there for all your post-match drinks and snacks.
PRE-MATCH
Stadium entry will be open for supporters from 9:00am. Entry to the stadium bowl can be made through the South West turnstiles at the Yellow entry point.
Ahead of the fixture, Newcastle Thunder’s Moody Cup takes place throughout the stadium grounds. Over 700 players are expected to flock to Kingston Park and take part in a great festival of rugby league.
Proudly supported by Cramlington-based Moody Logistics & Storage, teams from all over the region take part with trophy presentations taking place at half-time.
New to this season, the Stakeford Tyre Challenge returns and will take place on the pitch prior to kick-off. If you fancy the chance to win some great prizes, make sure you enter via our social media.
KICK-OFF
The club’s new mascot Thunderbolt will take to the field to introduce your Newcastle Thunder side back to Kingston Park moments before kick-off.
Newcastle Thunder take on Widnes Vikings in the Betfred Championship with kick-off set for 3pm.
HALF-TIME
Trophy presentations from the Moody Cup festival will take place on the pitch at half-time.
Be sure to give each team a huge cheer as they will also take part in a lap of honour.
POST-MATCH ACTIVITIES
The action doesn’t finish after the final whistle. Kingston Park will play host to the North East Men’s Grand Final between Jarrow Vikings and Wallsend Eagles.
The West Stand will be closed for this and supporters are advised to enjoy the fixture from the East Stand’s Tap & Tackle.
