Newcastle Thunder Statement on IMG Grading

Newcastle Thunder acknowledges the publication of the latest IMG grading results and wishes to share an update on the club’s position within this evolving landscape.

The club recognizes that the grading process represents a period of significant transition for the sport, as rugby league continues to adapt and grow under the new parameters introduced by IMG. 

For Newcastle Thunder, the coming season will be focused on rebuilding and growing the organization so that future gradings reflect the true growth of the club  — both on and off the field — in line with our Performance Pathways to ensure a sustainable and ambitious future for professional rugby league in the North East.

We will work with the RFL to establish a retrospective IMG score with a view to building on this in the future.

The club is looking forward to sharing a series of exciting announcements shortly, as part of its ongoing commitment to the development of Rugby League in the region and its vision for the future of Newcastle Thunder.
