Richie Metcalfe appointed CEO of Newcastle Thunder

Metcalfe joins the organisation at a pivotal moment as the club sets its sights on a sustainable and ambitious push into the newly formatted 2026 Betfred Championship. His appointment is a clear statement of intent to elevate the Thunder's operations off the pitch. He brings a proven track record of taking businesses into new territories and achieving substantial growth in highly competitive environments, experience that will be instrumental in expanding the club's commercial footprint.

About his appointment, Richie said “I'm incredibly proud to be back where my journey started in Rugby League as a teenager.
