Cody Hunter touches down at Thunder

Newcastle Thunder are thrilled to announce the signing of exciting halfback Cody Hunter ahead of the 2026 Betfred Championship season. 

Cody joins us from Australia with a proven record in the Queensland Cup, where he impressed for the Sunshine Coast Falcons with his creativity, game management, and ability to make decisive plays under pressure. His arrival strengthens the Thunder spine and adds a dynamic presence to our squad.

Cody has progressed through the junior and senior ranks in Queensland, making a name for himself with his intelligence on the field and versatility across key playmaking positions.
