Thunder Welcomes Ward

Newcastle Thunder are delighted to announce the signing of Brad Ward ahead of the 2026 Betfred Championship season. 

The club has secured Ward’s services as part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening the squad and building a competitive team capable of challenging in the newly formatted Betfred Championship. Ward featured at Newcastle Thunder in the 2025 League One campaign and will return in 2026 as a familiar face to the Thunder Army. 

Speaking on the signing, Head Coach Graham Steadman expressed his excitement at welcoming Ward to Newcastle, "Brad has a great attitude and ambition, which were key factors in his signing. We believe Brad aligns perfectly with the club’s long-term vision and culture, as we continue to develop both established players and emerging talent. In his time with Thunder in 2025 Brad proved he has what it takes to compete at this level."
