REVEALED: Newcastle Thunder Armed Forces Day 2026 Warm-Up T-Shirt

With just a few weeks to go until our Armed Forces Day event on Saturday, 27th June at Crow Trees Ground, Newcastle Thunder is incredibly proud to unveil our special edition warm-up shirt.

We wanted a design that strikes the perfect balance between honouring our military community and representing the pride of our club, and this kit delivers exactly that.

The design is inspired by the poppy fields of the Somme, electrified by Thunder's power, forming a wrap-around field of red poppies, a powerful and enduring symbol of remembrance, respect, and hope. The sleeves feature a bespoke gold lightning bolt entwined with poppies. 

This unique element was directly inspired by the brilliant watercolour artwork of veteran artist Shelly Hamilton-Smith. We are thrilled to announce that Shelly’s original piece will be on display for everyone to view in person at the event.

The sleek black base is finished with striking gold accents, proudly displaying the Thunder crest alongside our fantastic local partners who help make events like this possible.

Supporting the Royal British Legion

As part of our support for the Armed Forces, Newcastle Thunder will make a donation to the Royal British Legion in recognition and celebration of their hard work, dedication, and continued support of the military community.
