Newcastle Thunder receive IMG Grading Score

Newcastle Thunder can confirm that the club has submitted its annual IMG grading assessment, achieving a score of 4.18 and overall position of 26. There were 8 Championships clubs who did not submit a grading score.

The annual grading process assesses clubs across a number of key areas, including their stadium, community engagement, finances, fanbase, performance and commercial operations.

While the club recognises there is still significant work to do, the latest score provides a clear benchmark as Newcastle Thunder continues to build its foundations and work towards long-term growth and sustainability.

Newcastle Thunder General Manager Steve Watkinson said:

“While the score is low, it’s a step in the right direction and shows our intentions and direction of travel. There is a lot of work still to do across all areas of the club, but we are making progress and, importantly, we now have a clear understanding of where we are and where we need to improve.
“The IMG grading gives us something tangible to work towards and acts as a benchmark of progress. Everyone at the club is committed to improving our score year on year and continuing to build Newcastle Thunder for the future.”
