#Thunder20Years – Match-day information

A double-header day of rugby is on offer to fans this Sunday, as Newcastle Thunder marks the 20th anniversary of the club’s first game in Super League.

Back in March 1999, Gateshead Thunder took on Leeds Rhinos in their inaugural game and this weekend, the two clubs will once again meet with their U19s facing each other ahead of the current Newcastle Thunder first team clashing with Oldham RLFC (KO 3pm).

It promises to be an exciting afternoon of rugby league in the North East and with the important match day information, you can make the most of your day.

Fixtures – Tickets for Sunday grant access to both of the day’s games. Newcastle Thunder U19 v Leeds Rhinos U19s (KO 12:30pm) and Newcastle Thunder v Oldham RLFC  (KO 3pm)

Ticket sales – Advanced ticket sales are available now, with adult tickets starting from £10, concessions at £8 and Under 16s priced at £5. Ticket prices will increase on the match-day so make sure you buy yours early!

Gates opening & entry – Turnstiles to gain entry to Kingston Park Stadium will be open from 12:00

Supporter Accommodation – Spectators will watch the match from the East stand of the ground. Please sit in the seat for which your ticket is valid for.

Please follow directions from the Stewarding team when taking your seats. Standing tickets will also be situated along the east perimeter of the pitch side.

Ground entry – Entry to the stadium will be via East Stand turnstiles.

Parking – The Kingston Park car park will be open for this fixture, with spaces available for over 400 vehicles on a first come first served basis.

On-site car parking is £5 for this fixture unless you hold a season ticket in which you are entitled to free parking.

Programmes – Available from the club shop and priced at £3, the 36-page publication offers a look back over the club’s 20 years, an exclusive interview with new director of rugby Denis Betts and a focus on this weekend’s visitors.

Club Shop – Located on the ground floor of the East Stand, the club shops will be open from 10:00 and is already stocked with some great items from Thunder’s 2019 ISC range including the brand new 2019 home and away jerseys.

Already in store are new season’s tech pro hoodies, polo shirts and training tops, while new-look stadium jackets, bobble hats and coaches jackets are sure to prove popular for the early games of the season.

Bars & Food – The East Stand Tap & Tackle bar will be open from 11:00 serving a wide range of food and drinks.

Post Match – The East Stand will be the focus of events after the match, with the venue open until 10 pm.
