Newcastle Thunder are in line to hand out a host of debuts in this weekend’s Betfred League 1 fixture against Hemel Stags, as Jason Payne rotates his squad and aims to make it three wins on the bounce.

In a squad showing eight changes from that announced ahead of last weekend’s victory over Whitehaven, three players are in line to make their full first team debuts, while another is set for his first appearance in League 1.

Conor McGrath, David Weetman and Liam Richmond are those players set for a first senior involvement for the club, while Liam Scott could enjoy his first League 1 match having made his first-team bow against Doncaster in the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup.

Elsewhere, Tyler Craig and Niall Sidney come in from Thunder’s own roster while the club’s dual-register terms with Halifax sees Conor McGrath in line for a first game in Thunder colours.

Both sides come into Sunday’s game on the back of solid wins in round 12 while Thunder will be able to maintain their good form against the Stags, which sees a winning streak that extends back to April 2013.
