EAST STAND FOR NEWCASTLE THUNDER IN 2022

Newcastle Thunder will return to running home match days from the East Stand at Kingston Park Stadium in 2022,

Last used at the start of the 2020 campaign, the switch will offer a compact footprint for fans with bars and spectator accommodation on the same side of the ground as car parking, shop and ticket office facilities.

It will see a return to the Tap & Tackle being used as Thunder’s match-day bar, offering a more traditional club house feel for supporters to enjoy their match day from.

When watching the game, fans will be able to chose between sitting in the 380 capacity East Stand or standing along the touchline terraces.

For bigger games the club will open other areas of the ground as required, ensuring fans will be able to enjoy the action in an electric atmosphere.

In place from the pre-season friendly against Wigan on January 23rd it will allow fans to get as close as possible to the season's Newcastle Thunder action.

General manager Jordan Robinson said "We're pleased to confirm we will be running our match-days from the East Stand this season and offer a match-day experience that we know our fans enjoy most.

"Returning to the sunny side of the ground will allow fans to enjoy the clubhouse atmosphere throughout match-days at Kingston Park as well as offering the club operational advantages.

"We're looking forward to using the stand for the friendly against Wigan and hope a big number of Thunder fans will be there to kick off the year with a great atmosphere."
